The Details
FAQ's
Where is the training held?
Our Children's Yoga Teacher training will be held at Bristol School of Yoga, 16 Backfields Ln, St Paul's, Bristol BS2 8QW
Do I need to bring any equipment?
All equipment is provided at the studio so all you need to bring is yourselves, a bottle of water, notebook and pens and some snacks if you wish to!
Do I need to be a qualified yoga teacher ?
No. We find people who make the best children’s yoga teachers are those who are passionate about their own yoga practice and love working with children. Some of our graduates are yoga teachers for adults, whilst others are parents or school teachers.
What happens once I’ve completed the training?
Yay, congratulations on becoming a kids yoga teacher with us!! After the training you will receive a certificate you can use to obtain insurance. Then you're ready to start teaching and become positive impacts for children!
Where can I teach after the course?
Nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools, festivals, children birthday parties, summer camps, libraries … our course offers a wealth of practical ways you can incorporate yoga into any setting to enhance learning and nurture for children. We also have plenty of job opportunities ready for you should you wish to take them on!
Is there a payment plan option?
Yes there is. Please email info@thecalm-club.co.uk to arrange a payment plan. Please note payment must be made in full before the 1st August.
Where can I park?
There is metered parking on Upper York Street and Wilder Street (view map) with a 2 hour maximum stay, charges apply Monday - Saturday 8am - Midnight (cheaper after 18.00). Please do not park in the spaces along Backfields Lane as unauthorised vehicles are often fined. Outside the hours of 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday you are free to park in St. Pauls permit holders parking without having to display a permit. Alternatively the nearest car park to BSY that has no limit on the time you can stay is St James Barton, approximately 5 minutes walk from the school. There are also some great mobile apps such as Just Park and Your Parking Space for reserving parking spaces ahead of time that are nearby the studio. PLEASE NOTE: Bristol now has a Clean Air Zone in the city centre. The studio is located just outside of the zone, but please check your route and vehicle exemption before travelling.
Can I do the children’s yoga teacher training course with little/no teaching experience?
You do not need previous experience of teaching children to undertake our training course. All we ask is that you have some yoga experience and some experience of working with children. This might be as a parent, community group leader or as a teacher. If you have a passion for yoga and wish to share this with children, you will be perfect for the course.
Do I need to be good at yoga / flexible / athletic?
No - This course is for anyone who loves working with kids, or loves yoga. It is for yoga teachers wanting to diversify, for educators wanting to bring the benefits of yoga to their classrooms. It is for anyone who works with children: child psychologists, physiotherapists, nurses, speech therapists, nannies … it’s also great for parents/grandparents to find new ways to connect with their children/grandchildren and share a healthy, fun, and non competitive activity with the family.
What age groups is this course for?
This training course is for children from walking age up to 12 years old.
