About Us

Hi, I'm Tash, founder of The Calm Club!

My mission in creating The Calm Club is to bring inclusive, interactive and impactful yoga into ALL children's lives.  We work with teachers, schools and families in the South West of England, offering kids yoga classes, training and workshops.

We have our own hand-written yoga and mindfulness curriculum, which is curated to be inclusive, child-centred and interactive so that ALL children can benefit from it.

We believe yoga is for everyone, and envision a future where children from all walks of life are emotionally intelligent, and able to emotionally regulate using the tools that they have learned with us and through yoga.

The wonderful practice of yoga came into my life in 2010, and since then it has helped me in so many ways.

In 2015 I became a classroom teacher, yoga, breath and meditation helped me to serve my students better. Since then have worked with many different schools, students and teachers. From being directly in the classroom, I understand the challenges schools, teachers and students face, and have seen first hand how impactful yoga can be in schools and within families.

I took my first 200-hour YTT in 2017. Since then I have taught yoga in retreat centres, studios, community settings, corporate settings, and in classrooms. Each experience has gifted me more insight into how this practice can impact lives positively.

My own love of learning continues to grow and through the joy of teaching yoga to children, I learn something new and unexpected every class.

I truly believe that yoga and mindfulness are calming, peaceful tools for children that will serve them throughout their lives.

I have always been an outdoor enthusiast, whether it be hiking, biking or searching for snow to ride down, I have always felt most myself when being outside.

My yoga practice began with healing and stretching my body for my outdoor pursuits but I found that it went beyond helping my body, more of a way to feel connected to myself and find a sense of calm.

Yoga also led me to mindfulness and meditation, something that I find especially powerful when out in nature.

I have spent the last 18 months working in outdoor kindergartens nestled in the forests of Scotland and now Bristol. I've seen the importance of helping children develop their emotional wellbeing and regulation and wanted to bring my yoga practice into my work.

I believe yoga and mindfulness can be such a great tool to help teach children about their mind, emotions and their body.

In my early 30’s I tried juggling a fast paced commercial job, with becoming a Mother. I struggled, but was eternally grateful for the support from a local community center Yoga class.

I loved the invitation to slow down and take time just for me. I would feel stress melt away, sleep better and parent more mindfully, and ultimately, began to connect deeper to this practice of self awareness. I then knew I needed to make a life change to look after my health, and to align my work with these values.

So I took a leap of faith, and in 2018, completed 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training, as well as Children' Yoga Teacher Training - I’ve loved sharing and studying yoga in classes, workshops and retreats ever since!

I am passionate about working with Mothers, caregivers, children and schools, sharing yoga that holds space to pause, process feelings, connect to body and mind, slow down and rest. The more we make time for slow self care, the more of this patience, compassion and understanding we have for others.

From children to teachers and families, let's all practice yoga to look after each other with kindness and care.
